Why the hell did they by Foxy Tunes?

" Amidst all this change, it has still managed to do a small acquisition, something rumored before: it has bought FoxyTunes, a browser plug-in for Firefox and IE that has features such as online music and lyrics search, and also lets users control their media player from within the browser. The parent of the plug-in is based in Israel."

 

Why in god sakes did they do this?  Anyone really use FoxyTunes?  I mean I always thought it was kind of a joke!  How lazy do you have to be in order to incorporate your music player in your browser?  Is there some ultra secret back door manuever here that I am not seeing.  Comments please, comments? 

 
Google Works to Torpedo Microsoft Bid for Yahoo

In an unusually aggressive effort to prevent Microsoft from moving forward with its $44.6 billion hostile bid for Yahoo, Google emerged over the weekend with plans to play the role of spoiler.

Publicly, Google came out against the deal, contending in a statement that the pairing, proposed by Microsoft on Friday in the form of a hostile offer, would pose threats to competition that need to be examined by policy makers around the world.

Well, it's taken some time, but I finally decided to start a proper blog here.  Probably mostly going to be covering and commeting on daily technology news from within my little niche of New Media.  What is that niche?  Mobile Content Distribution and all things that have to do with what's going on in the peer to peer and mobile spaces.
